Invitation to comment on the concept for SOER Part C

Dear all,

Attached is the agenda for the SOER2010 Part C workshop the 29th of September which we invited you to the 14th of August. “The focus is on IT solutions for the further development of SOER, ie. Part C. We will introduce the proposed concept for the envisaged data and information management; explore existing IT technical options for implementation of the system based on the SEIS principles”. That proposed concept has now been given a name – SENSE - Shared Environmental National State of the Environment and that will be the main focus of the meeting. The main document specifying the feed for the SENSE project is ready.

We will also again draw you attention towards some of the messages in our invitation:

-        Read the background documents that are accessible through the SOER portal on EnviroWindows

http://soer2010.ew.eea.europa.eu/part-c/part-c-guidance/Part_C_Guidance_July_2009_Rev4.pdf and

http://soer2010.ew.eea.europa.eu/part-c/part-c-guidance/Part_C_web_proposal020709.doc

-        Liase with the SOER part C coordinator before the meeting to get the latest updates on the status on your national contribution to Part C.

Questions around the Workshop can still be put to Bernt Röndell (bernt.rondell@eea.europa.eu) (( +45 ...) for technical matters or Sandrina Lohse (sandrina.lohse@eea.europa.eu) (( +45 3336 7228 ) for the practical arrangements.

We thank you that already have signed up for the workshop. We would like to remind you that such a registration is needed for the reimbursement. You register using this link: http://www.eionet.europa.eu/events/NRC_IS_2009/ (in the right hand column it there is a “Sign up” box). You will also find information about travelling and reimbursement at that link. Should you encounter problems registering – please send an e-mail to any one of us.

Again, please observe that the workshop will take place at the premises of the Nordic Council of Ministers, Store Strandstræde 18, 1255 Copenhagen K, which is just around the corner of the EEA building.

Looking forward to an interesting workshop,

For Chris Steenmans,
