Dear EIONET Reference Centre,
With this letter EEA kindly invites countries to comment on the draft chapter of the report on Europe's biodiversity: The Boreal biogeographical region. The chapter can be found at: http://reports.eea.eu.int/report_2002_0524_154909/en/tab_content_RLR, in a version with images and one without.
The Boreal biogeographical region concerns the following countries fully or partly: Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden as well as Belarus and the Russian Federation.
The report on Europe's Biodiversity is the first report to describe the biogeographical regions of pan-Europe and its regional seas. The texts are based on contributions from the Agency's Topic Centre on Nature Protection and Biodiversity (ETC/NPB) as well as on various expert contributions. The national reports to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) as well as selected Internet information have been consulted as well.
We invite your comments before 1 June 2003. They should be e-mailed to biodiversity@eea.eu.int. Please indicate paragraph number and paragraph title for each comment.
Based on the comments, a revised version of the chapter will be released. The comments we receive from you will be uploaded on Circle:
EIONET review of Europe's Biodiversity. Draft Boreal chapter.
The Continental biogeographical region chapter will be the next to go out for comments.
All present chapters of the report are available at the EEA web site:
