National Portals
Released on 2002-03-18Release of National Portal software package version 1.1
EEA has today released the National Portals software package version 1.1. It contains server software for setting up and run a portal on the Internet.
The software is developed to help the member countries of EIONET to disseminate information on the countries environment and to share information resources between the EIONET partners. The development is an open source application and it is possible to download the package at http://www.eionet.eu.int/software/natport/ (728kB).
When installing the tool on your server a portal template comes out right from the box. The webmaster has the possibility to adopt and adjust the look-and-feel in a very wide manner by using the two templates (skins) that are provided. The toolkit supports also event calendars, syndicated news channels.
