Public consultation on soil paper
Released on 2001-10-26Comprehensive Community policies exist for water and air for many years, but this is not the situation for soil. In order to fill this gap the 6th Environment Action Programme contains the commitment by the Commission to develop a thematic strategy for soil with the ultimate goal of raising the political importance of soil issues at European Union level so that soil protection receives adequate attention. The Environment DG invites all interested parties and stakeholders to comment on the paper. Every suggestion will be welcomed and in particular those concerning the way forward.
The consultation closes on 15 November 2001.
