Phare IT training
A centralized IT training for EIONET telematics aspects took place
22-24 of February 2001 in Bucharest, Romania. The training was
organized under contract with the Phare Programme by Finsiel Italy
and Finsiel Romania, focusing on the current status of the EIONET
telematics network in the Phare countries and the next steps of
development of the network. Both technological and practical issues
with complementing on-hands exercises were excellently prepared and
delivered by qualified trainers on very good computer set-up and
premises.
Major issues discussed during the 3 days training were:
- EIONET node administration and security.
- Linux servers installation and configuration, Zope, PTK,
MySQL and Java application development.
- New CIRCLE 2.4 upgrade.
- The Phare EIONET and e-EIONET dataflows.
- The next steps of e-EIONET network development.
The training was attended by 11 Phare countries. All of them
concluded to continue further application of the network using the
new tools, as well as to finalize the first step of setting up
electronic data exchange with EEA through CIRCLE, and to complete
the Phare NFP EIONET Web sites in a harmonized way as national
portals.
