Wisiwyg textarea
In many places there is the possibility to enter HTML data. Since it is not the job of the typical user to know the intricacies of XHTML syntax, according to our userfriendliness imperative we should make it possible to enter the content in a wysiwyg way.
There are lots of products available. We have not selected one. However, The UNS product has implemented TinyMCE. Whatever you choose, keep in mind the folowing requirements:
- Must produce valid XHTML.
- Must work with UTF-8.
- Must work on IE and Firefox
- Should work with Greek/Cyrillic alphabets.
- Should fallback gracefully to simple <textarea>, if the user has no Javascript/Java.
- Should understand pasted MS-Word content
