EEAWebUpdate

EEAWebUpdate is a Python product that builds periodical newsletters for a list of registered sources of information. The process:

• it provides an RDF/RSS harvester for channels provided by the participant sites,
• compiles the harvested content into plain text/HTML newsletters and
• sends emails to the subscribers conform to their preferences.

This part is not yet implemented.

MemberUserFolder is a subcomponent of the EEAWebUpdate product that handles the user information storage. Currently, the users are kept in a MySQL database, but the product is flexible in the sense that replacing the type of database used only requires changing a few lines of code.

Participant sites are registered at EEAWebUpdate and offer RDF/RSS feeds. They must implement an interface for user registration and management based on XML/RPC calls to the MemberUserFolder through its API.
