This study is an update of first analysis done in 2018 and presents a more complete selection of Annex I habitats and species in need of spatial connectivity, in support of EU-transboundary protected areas management and in line with Green Infrastructure. Based on sound scientific principles a selection of species and habitats have been made based on their relevance for conservation, their need for an improved spatial connectivity, and which can be illustrative for a conservation approach. Moreover, some examples show how these elements of a green infrastructure can contribute to ecosystem services.
