Assessment of the local contribution to air pollution at Urban Hotspots ETC/ACC Technical Paper 2008/10

Introduction
This report studies, in follow up to the findings of EEA Technical Report 1/2006, the air pollution levels at traffic hotspot areas in 20 European cities compared to the urban background concentrations for NO2, NOx, PM10 and PM2.5. To this purpose, the Clean Air for Europe (CAFE) program’s Current Legislation (CLE) and Maximum Technically Feasible Reductions (MFR) scenarios were considered on the basis of the reference year 2000, having as a target the year 2020.
