The EEA is preparing a biomass assessment report. Covering the major production and supply routes of biomass, it will analyse the environmental co-benefits and trade-offs of biomass production in the agriculture, forestry and land use (AFOLU) sector, as well as the role of the Green Deal. This document serves as input to the EEA report and provides insights in climate change impacts for two countries in Europe.

This report is aimed at identifying a small descriptive number of land management options relevant to increase the mitigation potential of the LULUCF sector throughout Europe, synergic with climate change adaptation objectives and without having a negative impact on biodiversity (Task 2.2.2.1 - Subtask 2 of ETC/CA 2022).
Analysis of the scaling potential of selected cases of nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction relevant to achieving overarching ecosystem restoration targets
This paper contributes to making just resilience operational by stocktaking and structuring the knowledge on just resilience in climate adaptation, with a specific focus on providing relevant information towards measuring progress on just resilience in the European context, including the identification of potential indicators.
This report provides guidelines for the development of socioeconomic indicators to assess future exposure and vulnerability to future climate hazards and inform science-policy assessments.
This ETC-CA Technical Paper provides relevant information on how climate change is being tackled in Europe, based on information provided by European Union (EU) Member States and European Environment Agency (EEA) member countries.
The present paper analyses scaling aspects for Nature Based solutions (NBS) focusing on the economic and social characteristics of their implementation. This study discusses the socio-economic conditions which can enable or prevent upscaling and particularly focuses on the characterization and distribution of benefits generated by NBS. The objective of this paper is to exemplify this analysis on six selected case studies selected from those previously analised, assessing how socio-economic conditions impact the potential for large-scale implementation of NBS.
The report aims to investigate how Nature-based Solutions (NbS) can be applied in forested landscapes to reduce wildfire and pest outbreak risks, but also to improve the resilience of forests and support their recovery after such disturbances. It also discusses commonalities and divergences in conditions and strategies for NbS implementation across case studies, and identifies key learning points and remaining challenges.
This report aims to provide a deeper understanding of the diverse landscape of adaptation policy frameworks and instruments utilized across the 38 European Environment Agency member and cooperating countries, exploring their defining characteristics and how they operate within national contexts. Particular attention is given to countries with national climate laws governing climate change adaptation. The report provides an assessment of adaptation policy documents and reports published through July 2024.
