Abstract:
Monitoring under Art. 7a of the Fuel Quality Directive (FQD; Directive 98/70/EC) provides information on life cycle greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions of fuels (fossil, non-biofuel, biofuel and electricity) supplied for road transport and non-road mobile machinery. The FQD sets a 6 % reduction target from 2010 to 2020 and beyond. Member States are obliged to ensure that suppliers respect the target of 6% after the year 2020 and this report shows the progress towards this reduction. Data was provided for 2021 by 27 EU Member States, Northern Ireland, Norway and Iceland.
