2022 Webinar on the evaluation of agricultural greenhouse gas policies and measures

Date: 1 July 2022

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the agricultural sector has proven to be particularly difficult.  Policies and measures have been able to reduce the emission intensity of agriculture, but these gains have been offset by increased production. A variety of EU policy developments therefore seek to boost GHG mitigation in the agriculture sector, such as the EU Green Deal, the Farm to Fork strategy, the new CAP, the Carbon Farming Initiative, Circular Economy Action Plan and Fit-for-55 package. This will be a stimulus for further actions across EU Member States. In this webinar we gave a helicopter view on the greenhouse gas policies and measures in the agricultural sector across the EU. Two case studies illustrated the challenges in monitoring and evaluating agricultural policies and measures.
